Creating an Assignment
Instructors can create
Assignments and add them to a
Content Area of their choosing. Information visible to students includes Assignment Name, Point Value, and Instructions, as well as any files attached to the assignment. Once a student completes and submits an Assignment, the Instructor may access the file in the Grade Center.
Create an Assignment and Add it to a Content Area
- Log in to the Blackboard Course Management System using your NetID and Password
- From the My Institution tab, locate and click on your course link where you would like to create an assignment
- Click the Control Panel button
- From the Control Panel, select the Content Area such as Course Documents in which you wish to place the assignment
- From the drop-down menu at the top-right of the screen, select Assignment and click Go to add an assignment to your course
- Assignment Information
Enter a Name, the Points Possible, and Instructions for the assignment in the text boxes provided
- Assignment Files
- Attach a local file by clicking Browse to select a file to attach from your computer
- Enter the Name of Link to File
- Options
- Select Yes to make the assignment visible to students
- Use the date range fields to specify the time range in which the assignment
will appear in the student view
- Click on Submit
- Click on OK to clear the receipt screen and return to the Control
