Creating an Announcement
An announcement might include a welcome statement, changes in your class syllabus, or informing your students that new material has been added to the course.
Create and Post an Announcement
- Log in to the Blackboard Course Management System using your NetID and Password
- From the My Institution tab, locate and click on your course link where you would like to create an announcement
- Click the Control Panel button
- Select Announcements found in the Course Tools module
- Click the Add Announcement button
- Announcement Information
Type a subject in the field provided
Type your message in the field provided
- Options
- Permanent announcement?
Allows you to make the announcement permanent or not
- Choose Date Restrictions
Use the date range fields to specify the time range in which the announcement
will appear in the student view
- Course Link
- If you wish to add a direct link to an area within your course,
clicking Browse
allows you to access the Course Map where
you can create a Course Link to the area
- Email Announcement
By checking this box you have the option to email this
announcement to all course user
- Click on Submit
- Click on OK to clear the receipt screen and return to the Control
Panel
