Copying Entire Site

Course instructors will use the Course Copy option to manage their entire course sites from semester to semester. Entire courses include Content Areas, Announcements, Tests, Discussion Board, Grade Center items and settings, Staff Information, and other folders. You will need the course ID of the activated new course (Destination Course) in order to copy content to it.

Copy Your Entire Course Site

  1. Log in to the Blackboard Course Management System using your NetID and Password
  2. From the My Institution tab, locate and click on your course link that you wish to copy content from
  3. Click the Control Panel button
  4. Locate and click on Course Copy under Course Options
  5. Select Copy Course Materials into an Existing Course
  6. Under Course Selection, enter the Destination Course ID. To locate the ID, click on Browse.
  7. A search screen will appear. Enter search criteria and click Search.
  8. Only courses taught by the same instructor are available and will appear in the list. Click Select for the desired Destination Course.
  9. After the ID has been entered, choose the items you wish to copy from the Source Course into the Destination Course under Select Course Materials.
  10. Click on Submit
  11. This process may take several minutes. You will receive a success receipt upon completion of the process.
  12. Return to the My Institution tab and access your new course via the My Courses tab. You may then edit your content and structure your new course site as you wish.
