Saving Resources in Blackboard Scholar
Add a Bookmark
Build your collection of web resources in Blackboard Scholar. To add a bookmark to your Scholar collection:- Open a web page you want to save.
- Click the “Scholar It!” button on the Bookmark toolbar if you installed the "Bookmarklet Tool"in your browser. This will open the “Add a Bookmark to Scholar” web form. The name and URL of the bookmarked web page will be entered automatically. You may also edit the title here. If you haven’t installed the bookmarklet, login to Scholar and press the “Add a Bookmark” button.
- Add tags to help you organize and categorize the resource. Tags make it easy to for you and anyone else to find the resource. Use quotations for phrases, for example, “instructional technology.”
- Select a discipline tag in the drop-down Discipline tag menu.
- If the resource is relevant to a course, select a Course tag. Scholar provides a list of your Blackboard courses. Select one or more Course Tags from the drop-down list of Course Tags.
- Leave the default option “Public” if you want the bookmark to be viewable by others.
- Press Save.
Retrieve and Sort Blackboard Scholar Resources
Mine/All/Popular Bookmarks
Press on the Mine tab in the upper right to view My Bookmarks, a personal collection of resources. Pressing the All tab will show resources saved by all Scholar users.My Tag Cloud
My Tag Cloud displays key words you use to save your resources. Selecting a tag opens a list of resources saved with this tag. For example, My Bookmarks list displays the resources tagged as “social bookmarking” after you select this tag in the My Tag Cloud.Search

Stream
A Stream is a quick view of the results from a saved search. You can save a search query so that relevant resources are displayed every time you access Scholar. A stream is automatically updated as you and other Scholar users save relevant resources. Your Scholar page can display a few streams that are based on different search criteria. For example, Course Resources stream, Instructor Resources stream, Topic stream, and Discipline stream. View guidelines on customizing Scholar page with streams.
